RESTORE4Cs at Alternet Conference 2025

RESTORE4Cs is proud to be part of the Alternet Conference 2025, which will be held at CESAM in Aveiro, Portugal, from 13 to 16 May 2025. This event provides an influential platform for advancing interdisciplinary collaboration and bold action to halt biodiversity loss.

Under the conference theme “Achieving Transformative Change for Biodiversity,” RESTORE4Cs is playing a key role in Session 2: Transformative Change for the Co-Creation of Nature Restoration, which is co-organised by RESTORE4Cs partners from the University of Bucharest and the University of Aveiro.

Three of our researchers and consortium members will present key insights from the project:

🔹 Bruna Oliveira (13 May, 15:15–18:05) will present:
“Modeling for Wetland Restoration: Leveraging LUPLES for Transformative Conservation Planning”
Exploring how spatial planning models like LUPLES can support decision-making in wetland restoration for more sustainable outcomes.

🔹 Enrickson Varsori (16 May, 10:00–11:00) will present:
“Integration of Communication and Science in Wetland Restoration: Showcasing a Co-Creation Process Preventing Stakeholders’ Fatigue”
Demonstrating how clear, inclusive communication strengthens long-term engagement and effectiveness in restoration initiatives.

🔹 Lamara Cavalcante (16 May, poster presentation) will present:
“Assessment of Spatial and Temporal Restoration Scales of Seagrass Meadows Having Macrofauna as Indicators”

RESTORE4Cs will also be visually represented through roll-up displays throughout the conference venue, helping raise visibility of the project’s mission and approaches.
