๐ŸŽฎ Learning Through Play: The RESTORE4Cs Serious Game

The competition was centered around an interactive serious game, which engaged students in learning key concepts related to wetland ecosystems. Participants explored topics such as:

  • Ecosystem structures and functions
  • Biodiversity and sustainability
  • Human impact on wetlands
  • Conservation and management strategies

The game-based format encouraged students to collaborate, think critically, and deepen their environmental knowledge in a hands-on and enjoyable way.

๐ŸŒ Why Learning About Wetlands Matters

Coastal wetlands are among the most productive ecosystems on the planet. They protect shorelines, store carbon, support biodiversity, and offer essential services to both nature and society. However, they are under increasing threat from climate change, urban development, and pollution.

Educating students about wetlands is crucial for shaping future generations of environmentally conscious citizens and scientists. By integrating real-world environmental challenges into the classroom, programs like RESTORE4Cs empower young learners to understand the value of natural systems and take part in their protection.

As educators and researchers collaborate across borders, this competition serves as a shining example of how environmental education can inspire, inform, and unite students from across Europe.
