Launch of the RESTORE4Cs School Competition: A Fun Way to Learn About Coastal Wetlands

The RESTORE4Cs project is excited to announce the launch of the RESTORE4Cs School Competition, an engaging and educational initiative designed to introduce students to the fascinating world of coastal wetlands. This competition, set to take place in mid-April 2025, provides a fun, informal way for students aged 12 and over across Europe to learn about the essential ecological functions of wetlands, their role in biodiversity, and how they contribute to climate resilience.

The RESTORE4Cs School Competition will feature a serious game that helps students understand key concepts related to wetland ecosystems, including their structure, functions, and services. As part of the competition, students will explore topics such as ecosystem services, biodiversity, and sustainable management practices.

How to Participate:

  1. Register your class: Fill in the simple registration form here.
  2. Check your inbox for the enrollment key and detailed instructions.
  3. On the competition day, log in to the competition page and start playing!

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the competition, students will be able to:

  • Define ecosystems and ecosystem services;
  • Understand the structural and functional characteristics of wetlands;
  • Assess the current state of European wetlands;
  • Recognise the main anthropogenic pressures on coastal wetlands.
