MedWet has opened the recruitment of 1 (one) position – Request of Offer for an external service provider | Graphic Design for Policy Briefs, in the scope of RESTORE4Cs‘ WP1 – Task 1.3 Policy Synthesis and Recommendations – “Modelling RESTORation of wEtlands for Carbon pathways, Climate Change mitigation and adaptation, ecosystem services, and biodiversity, Co-benefits”, (Grant Agreement 101056782), funded by the European Commission, Call HORIZON-CL5-2021-D1-01.
As part of its policy activities, the RESTORE4Cs project will develop a set of recommendations for decisionmakers and restoration practitioners, to be disseminated in the form of 11 policy briefs. These briefs will contribute to promote the uptake of project results. List of topics for the policy briefs:
- Climate change mitigation services, wetland conditions and restoration (modelling); restoration and management options for climate mitigation and biodiversity; upscaling solutions for wetland restoration;
- Relevance of project results for EU obligations to global processes, in particular the Paris Agreement and Convention on Biological Diversity;
- Relevance of project results for key EU policies, (Biodiversity Strategy 2030, EU Nature Restoration Law, LULUCF, Farm to Fork Strategy, water policies);
- Presenting an online platform to be developed by the project to support decision-makers in planning restoration actions.
To support WP1 and task 1.3 (led by MedWet) a graphic designer will be in charge of:
1 – Designing the reference template for all policy briefs:
- Template format: One-pager, two sides, factsheet style, where charts and infographics will be inserted.
- This template will apply the visual identity manual of the RESTORE4Cs project, available at:
https://www.restore4cs.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/RESTORE4Cs_D8.1.pdf; - Delivery format: Source file to be used for all factsheets, exact format to be agreed with MedWet team;
- Deadline: 5 February 2024.
2 – Integrating content into the template for the 11 policy briefs:
- Content: High-quality images, charts/diagrams and texts (with icons and bullet points) in seven languages will be provided. The graphic designer will propose a graphic adaptation of the provided charts/diagrammes. The purpose of the charts will be to represent technical and scientific data (diagrammes, statistics, trends). He/ she may also propose other graphic adaptations of scientific data in the content;
- Delivery format: PDF file;
- Languages: Each policy brief will be developed in 7 languages (English + Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Romanian and Lithuanian). Translations will be provided;
- Deadline: For the first policy brief: 20 February 2024. The dates for the production of the next policy briefs have not yet been set. The project has committed to
producing 11 Policy Briefs by the end of the programme in December 2025.
3 – Creating 2 infographics to be used in the policy briefs in 7 languages:
Following the specifications of the MedWet team, the designer will develop 2 infographics, which will help to illustrate natural processes and ecosystem functioning.
- Delivery format: Vector file;
- Deadline: Works are to be carried out during 2024 and 2025, delivery date to be defined;
- Languages: Each infographic will be developed in 7 languages (English + Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Romanian and Lithuanian). Translations will be provided.
Requirements:
The consultant is expected to show flexibility in meeting the demands and deadlines of the project. Given the scientific character of the content, the consultant will also be provided some technical explanations allowing to illustrate complex concepts.
Additional comments:
The designer undertakes to carry out this work as the project progresses until 31 December 2025. The designer shall be paid upon successful deliverables transmitted and validated by MedWet.
- 1 first payment upon delivery of the template and the first policy brief in 7 languages;
- Intermediate payments to be agreed in the contract for the following policy briefs;
- 1 payment on receipt of each infographic.
The invoice will specify the reference of the Horizon Europe Project and the description of the accomplished task. The payment term will be of 15 days after the invoice date (bank account details should be detailed). The tax legislation in force at the date of acceptance of the offer will be applied. The financial offer must should be presented in the table at the end of this document. The financial offer for the services must not exceed 11.000 euros.
